Concert recognizes Dave and Lynn Frohnmayer

The School of Music and Dance's top ensembles will pay tribute to Dave and Lynn Frohnmayer in a special President's Concert at 4 p.m. March 1, in the Hult Center's Silva Concert Hall. Tickets, available at the door, are $10 general admission, $5 for students.

Food drive helps those in need

The Governor’s State Employee Food Drive is in full swing now through the end of February. All food and money collected at the University of Oregon goes to FOOD for Lane County to help out our neighbors in need. Employees are encouraged to drop non-perishable food in barrels located around campus.

Warpinski photographs on display

The Oregon Law School Gallery is showing a photographic exhibit, “From One Place to Another,” featuring landscape images from Terri Warpinski, a professor of art and a nationally recognized photographer.

The exhibit, which will continue through June 30, features 40 images and ideas spanning 25 years.

Library offers easy access to local and regional government documents

The UO Libraries has launched a new electronic resource for citizens of Oregon and researchers around the world. The Local and Regional Documents Archive (LRDA) provides a centralized, fully searchable repository and archive of significant documents produced by local governments and regional offices of U.S. federal government agencies within the state or Oregon. Helmuth Rilling, Oregon Bach Festival artistic director, conducted "The Creation" by Haydn in Carnegie Hall on Feb. 14, the main event of the Carnegie Hall Choral Workshop.

MUSIC TODAY FESTIVAL: Beta Collide
Monday, Feb. 16 -- 8 p.m.
Beall Concert Hall
$8 general admission; $5 students and seniors
Beta Collide is a leading-edge new music ensemble directed by two members of the UO music faculty: Grammy Award-winning flutist Molly Alicia Barth and trumpeter Brian McWhorter. The program will feature UO techno-wizard Jeffrey Stolet in a piece using flashlights, UO faculty pianist David Riley, UO faculty bassist Tyler Abbott, and a dance piece featuring Walter Kennedy and Shannon Mockli of the UO dance faculty. Additional music by John Cage, György Ligeti, John Fonville, and world premieres by Robert Kyr and Douglas Detrick.
